Donor, Board Member, Trellis Advocate
Arturo Perez, Community Affairs Manager at US Bank and Trellis Board Member, uses his knowledge as a banker and to advocate for Trellis and the communities we serve. Aside from supporting Trellis through his advocacy and volunteerism, Art also supports the organization philanthropically and takes advantage of using employer matching gifts to double his impact.
“I’m glad I can use my skills to help Trellis because the issue of affordable housing disproportionately affects people of color,” says Art, as it is the mission of Trellis to support underserved communities in metro Phoenix in their journey towards home ownership.
Currently in Arizona, more than 1 in 4 Hispanic residents are living in poverty without access to affordable housing and it has been an ongoing issue affecting families. “People were losing homes and getting evicted left and right, and flash forward to today, when eviction moratoriums are lifting — affordable housing is a huge concern again.”
Art donates monthly and shares his financial expertise from years of working at banks to help Trellis operate effectively while serving on the board. He also continues to make introductions to Trellis with community partners that can advance the mission of Trellis. According to Art, “You can make a difference in so many different ways.”
