SUMMARY

The Case Worker Assistant provides high quality customer service assistance to Trellis clients interested in accessing the Emergency and Utility Assistance Program. Case Worker Assistant communicates with clients and also data entry. Case Worker Assistant reports to the Director of HomeOwnership Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Return calls promptly and courteously
• Track progress on calls.
• Handle all information with care and high confidentiality.
• Respond to general inquiries regarding Trellis – Emergency Program.
• Provide accurate information to clients.
• Screen and route calls to proper Trellis staff.
• Route messages from voicemail or take complete names and phone numbers for return calls.
• Assist in obtaining missing client documents.
• Maintain orderly files.
• Data entry.
• E-mail clients appropriate grant information.
• Refer ineligible applicants to other agencies, as appropriate.
• Maintain general and public office areas so that areas remain neat and clean.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate (with strong aptitude in basic math). Basic clerical experience including Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Bilingual in Spanish and English. Strong spoken (English and Spanish) and written (English) communication skills.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS

Ability to deliver high quality customer service with good organizational skills with a pleasant personality. Excellent telephone skills.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Math skills in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Attention to detail while reviewing client documents.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, DBase management and use of internal e-mail system.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must present proof of automobile insurance coverage. Minimum liability limits shall be $100,000 bodily injury and $25,000 property damage coverage or such limits as deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive Officer.
