Over a year and a half ago, Cynthia was a single mom, living in a rented apartment, looking to purchase her first home. She was trying to purchase a home in the South Phoenix Village (SPV) community. Her Realtor told her that in order to qualify for specific home buyer programs, Cynthia would need to complete a home buyer education class. The Realtor directed her to Trellis.

At Trellis, Cynthia worked with Teresa Torres, one of our knowledgeable and caring Financial Capability & Program Coordinators. Cynthia still remembers how Teresa was so informative and walked her through every step of the process. “Teresa was great!” recalls Cynthia. “She walked me through every step that I needed.” One of those steps was the Pre-Purchase class offered by Trellis.
Cynthia came to the Trellis office to take the class in person. Through this education, Cynthia states that learned a lot of new and very useful information, including programs to help first-time home buyers and other methods like down payment assistance to make mortgage payments affordable. “Trellis made it possible for me to own a home!” says Cynthia. “And I have already referred many people to Trellis.”
