Trellis marks 50 year milestone

On July 25, 2025, Trellis marked a major milestone: 50 years of strengthening Arizona through homeownership, financial counseling, and community development. To commemorate this journey, board members and staff gathered for an in-house celebration to honor the organization’s legacy and the people who have helped shape it.

Trellis originally started as Neighborhood Housing Services of Phoenix in 1975 with help from the City of Phoenix and NeighborWorks America and has grown into a leading nonprofit dedicated to helping individuals and families achieve long-term housing and financial stability. Over the decades, Trellis has remained true to its mission, adapting to meet the needs of our diverse and evolving communities.

The July 25 celebration was filled with stories, memories, and future goals. Attendees spoke about Trellis’ impact over the years, from helping thousands become first-time homeowners to guiding families through complex financial challenges with compassion and expertise. Staff and Board Members took time to reflect on the deep community relationships built and the lives changed through Trellis programs.

“As we honor our past, we’re also looking to the future,” said Brenda Lopez, Trellis President & CEO. “The need for affordable, stable housing is greater than ever. We remain committed to innovation and expanding our reach in the years to come.”

This internal celebration was just the beginning of a series of events to mark Trellis’ golden anniversary. The Legacy of Purpose: 50 Years of Building Home celebration will be November 6, 2025, welcoming partners, supporters, and community members to celebrate five decades of service and impact.

Trellis extends heartfelt thanks to its board, staff, partners, and countless clients who have trusted us over the years. Here’s to the next 50 years of building resilient communities – together.
