As the Grande Finale for our Fall NeighborWorks week celebrations – Trellis, Freddie Mac, and BMO Harris Bank joined forces to support the joint mission of increased home ownership in Arizona. A luncheon offering real estate professionals valuable information on lending programs and housing statistics was held at the BMO Harris Bank Tower earlier in the week as a kick-off to the overall theme of expanding home ownership awareness. Speakers included BMO Harris: Jerry Bevers, Julianna Hackel-Judd and Patrick O’Malley / Freddie Mac: Dennis Smith / Trellis: Joel McCabe, Sandra Saenz and Caroline Cancel / City of Phoenix: Joe Collins / South Phoenix Village: Krista Schwartz.
The following Saturday Trellis, BMO, and Freddie Mac co-hosted a free homebuyer’s fair and bus tour of available homes in the South Phoenix area. They were literally driving homebuyers to view their dream homes! Interested homebuyers were able to speak to a variety of experts, win prizes donated by local businesses, and attend a 90 minute bus tour to nearby homes available for purchase in South Phoenix Village, Montana Bella and Copper Leaf Villas. The half day open house event was held at The Kroc Center Facilities and even attracted “walk-ins” from people taking their children to karate or ballet class at the Center. The week was filled with new lending program knowledge, housing insights, real estate agent connections, home service providers, area businesses … and most importantly, excited home buyers eager to start on their journey towards the dream of home ownership. One future homeowner says it best, “There is nothing like having your own home!” Trellis is honored to be part of that dream.
